SUKMA: Two reward-carrying Naxals allegedly planning to plant explosives to target security personnel were arrested on Friday said police officials on Saturday.

Muchak Sukhram (28) and Madvi Kosa (30), who carry rewards of Rs 1 lakh each on their heads were apprehended following a tip-off from a hill near Kunna village under Kukanar police station limits, some 400 kilometers from Raipur. Following this, a joint team of DRG and local police launched a search to detain them.

Sukhram is a member of the local organization while Kosa is a militia commander. During the search, a tiffin bomb weighing around 10 kilograms, 12 detonators, 60 kilograms of ammonium nitrate (used in explosives), switches, and firecrackers, were recovered from them.

The police officer informed that the duo confessed to have been devising a plan to target security officials by making an IED.
