Bhopal: A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mantralaya in Bhopal today. As many important decisions were taken in this meeting, CM Chouhan instructed the ministers in charge that procurement of wheat must be done at support prices. He further directed his cabinet to monitor all the arrangements and ensure that losses due to hailstorm and rain in the region must be addressed by the Central government.

CM Chouhan has informed his cabinet about the approval from the central government to procure up to 10 percent shineless wheat on support prices. The government will have to bear a loss of five rupees 31 paise per quintal on buying more than 10 per cent lusterless wheat.

Meanwhile, the Food Civil Supplies Department gave instructions to the collectors to prepare to buy 89 lakh tonnes of wheat this year. Apart from this, financial assistance of Rs 32 thousand per hectare will be given to the farmers affected by natural calamity. While separate crop insurance will be provided to the affected farmers, Revenue Minister Govind Singh Rajput instructed all officers to provide relief to farmers immediately assessing the crops damaged.
