BIJAPUR: A CRPF jawan suffered injuries while diffusing an IED in CGs Bijapur district on Thursday morning. The incident took place around 11.30 am when CRPF constable Ravi Kumar 35-year-old Jawan from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was defusing the bomb kept on the culvert between Nelasnar-Bangapal villages.
Ravi suffered serious fractures and splinter injuries in the incident. He was air-lifted to Raipur for better treatment and sources said he is out of danger.
The IED was spotted by the Jawan when the CRPF team left their camp around 9:30 am for conducting area domination and search operations.
A security personnel from Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) was killed in an IED blast in the Bijapur district on Monday and two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured in an IED blast in the Kanker district on Tuesday.
