NEW DELHI: Amidst a logjam in Parliament, the opposition parties continued to stick to their stands leading to adjournment of both the houses until 20th March.
As soon as the lower house adjourned today, the opposition members rushed into the well of the House shouting slogans and showing placards seeking a JPC probe in the Adani matter. Treasury benches were seen shouting slogans, seeking Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s apology for his remarks during his speech in London last week, where he had said that democratic values were under threat in India.
The BJP ramped up its attack on Rahul Gandhi saying that he has become a permanent part of the ‘anti-nationalist toolkit’.
‘It’s unfortunate that the Congress party is indulging in anti-national activities. After being repeatedly rejected by the nation, Rahul Gandhi has now become a permanent part of this anti-nationalist toolkit, said Nadda.
Ahead of the adjournment, Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan gave suspension of business notice in the Rajya Sabha under rule 247 and demanded a discussion on the Govt’s questionable role in prompting the business interest of the Adani Group’. AAP MP Sanjay Singh also resonated with Mr. Ranjan.
Both the houses of the Parl were adjourned on Thursday shortly after the arrival of Rahul Gandhi in the House. The tussle continued on the fourth day even outside the parliament.
The second leg of the Budget session began on 13th March. Since then the Assembly has been recording several disruptions.
