SUKMA: A jawan of the Indian Army was shot dead by a group of armed naxals in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, an official said. The Naxal is said to have been attacked while he had gone to the chicken market in Useli.

The deceased has been identified as Motiram Aanchala, a resident of Bade Tevda who had resumed his duty lately as he had returned from a holiday. A case has been filed in Amabeda police station area.

Earlier today three District Reserve Guard (DRG) security personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, were killed in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma.

The DRG jawans lost their lives in an encounter that took place between Jagargunda and Kunded under the Jagargunda police station.
