New Delhi: According to sources, the NIA has launched searches at 60 locations in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala against symphatizers of gloabl terror outfits. Sources state the search ops are launched in connection to Coimbatore car cylinder blast case.

A week ago the anti terror agency with assistance of an interpreter to record the confessional statement of the hearing and speech impaired woman- wife of prime accused Jamesha who died in a cylinder explosion in a car in Coimbatore last year.

It is said that Mubin, prime accused in the case, had told his wife about the purchase of explosives and plan to execute the blast. During a search at Mubin’s residence, a rented house on the second floor of a building on H.M.P.R. Street, the investigators unearthed over 75 kg of potassium nitrate, aluminium powder, sulphur and charcoal.

The incident that took place in the communally sensitive Ukkadam area on October 23rd and Mubin was charred to death.

So far the central investigating agency has arrested 11.
