Delhi: As the spread of coronavirus in Delhi has been on exponential growth without fail, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan will hold a meeting with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and LG Anil Baijal and members of State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) tomorrow at 11 am to review the situation of the National capital.
According to the statement from the Home Minister’s office, the meeting will take place on Sunday at 11 am.
Dr Randeep Guleria, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and other senior officers would also be present at the meeting to be helmed by the home minister.
Sources said, this meeting is being held due to the complaint made by Former Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken, the Commission has referred to difficulties being faced by the people in Delhi, due to non-availability of beds in the hospitals for Covid-19 patients and inadequate number of tests leading to a grim state of affairs and mismanagement, resulting in death of a large number of people.
Earlier on Friday, Supreme Court also strongly condemned Delhi government for their horrendous management towards the covid19 patients and asked the government to explain why its COVID-19 testing had dipped from 7,000 to 5,000 a day.
On Friday, Delhi had reported 2,137 new Covid-19 cases in the highest single-day spike so far and 129 deaths due to the coronavirus infection, taking the national capital’s count to 36,824.
