BALODABAZAR: 36 were injured after a pickup vehicle carrying people from Shivrinarayan fair overturned. Overall 50 persons were traveling in the vehicle, said eyewitnesses who rescued those injured and alerted the nearby police station.
The incident took place near Khapridih near Gidhauri Police station. As per inputs, 14 out of the 36 injured are said to be serious and are referred to a private hospital in Bilaspur.
Preliminary investigations revealed the vehicle overturned as the driver tried to save a bike rider coming from the opposite direction. All injured in the incident are identified as residents of Bilaigrah Mirchid village.
Further investigation into the incident is underway. Gidhauri and Bilaigarh Police have engaged teams for investigation.
