New Delhi: In a major goof-up, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today read the excerpts from the previous budget instead of Budget 2023-24. The chief minister during the Assembly session, started reading parts of his government’s previous budget, leading to protests by BJP legislators.. While Speaker C P Joshi asked them to maintain the decorum bit Opposition continued its uproar. The House was adjourned for half-an-hour.

This is the last budget as the Gahlot-led government will contest polls later this year. As the minister holds the finance portfolio, he was presenting the budget on the theme of ‘Bachat, Rahat, Badhat”. However, after the ruckus, CM Gehlot took to his twitter account and said, “BJP just wants to show that it is against the development and progress of Rajasthan. Its mind-boggling allegation that the budget was leaked shows that it not leave the budget out of petty politics”.

The ruckus did not end and later opposition MPs staged a walkout from Rajya Sabha after Chairman Jagdeep Singh Dhankhar objected to the remarks made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. “Every transgression from both sides will not go without my deep reflection”, said Dhankhar amid the ruckus today morning.
