King Khans’ spy thriller ‘Pathaan’ has emerged as the highest opening weekend grosser in the history of Bollywood cinema.

According to Yash Raj Films (YRF), in the five-day extended weekend for Republic Day “Pathaan” registered Rs 60.75 crore net in India (Hindi – Rs 58.5 crore, all dubbed versions – Rs 2.25 crore), taking the India gross to Rs 70 crore. The overseas gross on day five stands at Rs 42 crore, taking the total collection on its fourth day of release to Rs 112 crore gross.

The Siddharth Anand-directed action flick recorded  Rs 207.2 crore in the overseas territories alone.”At YRF, we are proud that ‘Pathaan’ is entertaining people across the globe, pulling people to the theatres, and giving them an experience of a lifetime!” Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, said in a statement.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Pathaan netted Rs 58.50 crore in Hindi and Rs 2.25 crore in the dubbed versions on Sunday for a Rs 60-crore-plus day, it’s second so far.

Pathaan has also become the fastest-grossing movie of Khan’s career on Saturday. It surpassed Chennai Express and Happy New Year. On Sunday it surpassed War- the third rendition of the spy universe by YRF.

Pathaan is now the third-highest-grossing Indian film post-pandemic, behind only KGF Chapter 2 and RRR. It has overtaken the collections of Vikram and Ponniyin Selvan: I.
