RAIPUR: On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day, CG CM Bhupesh Baghel announced an unemployment allowance for the youth who do not have jobs in the state. Unemployment allowance for youth in the state has been a key point of contention of the Congress party. The emphasis on unemployment in its election manifesto helped Congress in returning to power in Chhattisgarh after 15 years.
“I announce to provide unemployment allowance per month to all the unemployed youth of the state starting from the next fiscal year,” Baghel said addressing the gathering at Jagdalpur. However, he did not specify the amount.
In addition to this, Bhupesh Baghel also announced the formulation of a rural industry policy in the state to boost the cottage industry-based rural economy. Along with this, he also made some other important announcements on the occasion. He also assured people that factories lying in the industrial areas will be exempted from property tax. He also announced a housing assistance scheme for laborers, schemes for women entrepreneurs, etc. To provide an improved passenger facility to air travelers in the state, the Chhattisgarh government will develop an aerocity near the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur.
An aid of ₹ 10,000 will be provided every year to each gram panchayat for organizing festivals of tribal communities in the tribal-dominated Bastar and Surguja divisions and scheduled areas of the state from the next financial year, he said.
