GUJARAT: The Police on Friday filed a 1262-page chargesheet in the British ear built- Morbi bridge that collapsed three months ago and killed more than 135 people.
Deputy Superintendent of Police P S Zala submitted the charge sheet in the Morbi sessions court which the promoter of Oreva Group and MD of Ajanta Manufacturing who has been missing as the main accused.
Earlier on Jan 24th, a magistrate’s court has already issued an arrest warrant against Jaysukh Patel in connection with the October 30, 2022 bridge collapse incident. The arrest warrant was issued under section 70 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). ” All steps are being taken to arrest him as soon as possible. HE is untraceable right now, said an officer in the know.”
Notably, Patel had moved to Morbi sessions court on January 20 for anticipatory bail in the case, while the hearing was adjourned till February 1 as the public prosecutor was not present.
A magistrate’s court has already issued an arrest warrant against Jaysukh Patel in connection with the October 30, 2022 bridge collapse incident. His anticipatory bail plea will come up for hearing on February 1.
Nine persons, including four employees of Ajanta Manufacturing (Oreva Group), have been arrested so far in the case. They include two managers and an equal number of ticket booking clerks of the Oreva Group that was managing the British-era bridge.
