NEW DELHI: A Delhi court is scheduled to hear the defamation case filed by global actor Nora Fatehi against Jacqueline Fernandez for allegedly defaming her by “unfairly dragging” her name into a ₹200 crore money laundering case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekar. The complainant claimed that allegations of Nora Fatehi receiving gifts from Chandrashekar were wrong.

“Since the complainant had never even spoken to Chandrashekar let alone having met him, hence the imputation made by Fernandez and the subsequent publishing of the same by the accused media houses are untrue,” the complaint said.

Nora has also sued various media publications in a Delhi court. As per the report, Nora has claimed in her complaint that Jacqueline’s statement has caused her reputation harm as it was further carried out and circulated by various media organizations.

Street Dancer 3D actress statement read-‘all of whom were acting in connivance with each other, and a conspiracy by Jacqueline Fernandez to ensure the financial, social, and personal downfall of the complainant was hatched and enacted by the said actions.’

“A defamatory statement was made by Ms. Fernandez in “bad faith” and with “mala fide intention” and was circulated by the media houses with an intent to defame her, she added.

Nora Fatehi and Jacquline Fernandez have been named in the chargesheet filed by the ED on August 31 last year. Both actresses have appeared before the court several times.
