RAIPUR: In response to the protests and slogans being raised by the Congress party, Raman Singh former CM of Chhattisgarh at a press conference today retaliating against the defamation attempts said-that the whole party should not be held lambasted as there has been no disclosure on the involvement of the Palash Chandel.

On Saturday, the Congress burnt an effigy of senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader and Janjgir-Champa MLA Narayan Chandel after his son was booked for sexually assaulting a lady of Janjgir Champa on a false promise of marriage. The case has been filed under the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act a few days ago against Palash Chandel.

A zero FIR was lodged in Mahila Thana in Raipur and then transferred to Janjgir-Champa. Congress spokesman Dhananjay Singh Thakur said Chandel must tender his resignation as the Leader of the Opposition and he must present his son to the police to surrender.

“The police in Janjgir-Champa constituted a five-member team led by DSP Chandra Shekhar Parma to investigate the case,” Janjgir-Champa Superintendent of Police Vijay Agrawal said.
