RAIPUR: The ED on Friday conducted raids at multiple locations in Chhattisgarh in connection with the coal scam. The searches are underway in the state capital city Raipur, Korba, Durg, and Ranchi in Jharkhand and Bengaluru. According to sources in the know, the teams are provided with security personnel from the CRPF.

Premises belonging to Anbalagan P secretary of the water resources department, tourism, and culture. The 2004 IAS officer has earlier served as the secretary of the mineral sources department.

Agni Chandrakar, former MLA of Mahasamund and chairman of Seed corporation was also included in the list. Apart from him, a team of ED also reached the residences of businessman Swatantra Jain, and transporter Vipul Patel in Raipur. Jain is the father-in-law of Suryakant Tiwari. His residences in Mahasammund and Raipur were searched.

In December last year, ED had attached movable and 91 immovable properties worth Rs 152.31 crore belonging to bureaucrats IS Sameer Vishnoi, Suryakanth Tiwari, and CM Baghels’ Secy Saumya Chaurasia. The ED claimed a grand conspiracy took place in the name of policy changes.
