MUMBAI: Ritesh Deshmukh’s directorial debut Ved has been ruling the charts at the box office successfully minting money on the fourth day. The Marathi film starring the mushy Bollywood couple Ritesh himself along with his wife Genelia D’Souza weaved the magic of their romance on the big screen.

With fairly dull opening, the Marathi venture has eventually recorded as rise in footfall beating Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus. Ved managed to collect Rs. 12.90cr.On its opening day, the film collected Rs. 2.25cr, while on its second day, it collected Rs. 3.25cr.On its third and fourth day, the film collected Rs. 4.50cr and Rs. 2.90cr, respectively.It’s anticipated that the film will go on to fetch Rs. 40cr from its overall run.

The couple was last seen in the Bollywood movie Mister Mummy, which failed to leavea mark on the box office.

Apart from Genelia and Rites, the movie also stars Jiya Shankar and Ashok Saraf in significant roles. Bollywoods Bhaijan also makes a cameo in the film. Salman Khan is seen in a song featuring Ritesh alongside.The project is helmed by Ritesh Deshmukh and bankrolled by Genelia D’Souza. It is partially based on the 2019 Telugu hit Majili, which starred Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead.
