SURAT: A man suspecting his ex-wife of infidelity injected HIV-infected blood into her in Surat. As per reports, they have divorced two months ago and the man as revenge committed the act as she refused to return to him. The woman is currently admitted for treatment and necessary medical tests will be done in the next few months.
The man identified as Shankar Kamble confessed that he had procured the blood from an HIV ward of a hospital impersonating as a researcher. He hatched a plan and took his ex-wife to a secluded area. There he administered her an injection, after which the woman fainted.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and further investigation is underway.
