22 days after its release, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam has been ruling at the box office. On its fourth Friday, the movies collection remained unaffected by the release of Salaam Venky.
Drishyam 2 earned rs 2.62 crores at the box office taking the total collection to Rs 198.92 crores. According to Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, the tabu starrer will cross the 200 crore mark today.
On the other hand, Kajol’s Salaam Venky a family drama reportedly opened weak and touched below 1 crore on its first day. However, it is expected that Salaam Venky will witness a jump over the weekend.
Drishyam 2 will become Ajay’s third 200-crore grosser. Earlier, he scored a double century with Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior (2020) and Golmaal Again (2017). Drishyam 2 is Ajay’s fourth release of 2022. Earlier, he was seen in Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, and Runway 34. Next year, Ajay will be seen in Bholaa.
Drishyam 2 is a sequel to part 1, where the story revolves around a cable operator his wife, and his daughters. The emotional thriller has Tabu who plays the role of IG Meera Deshmukh- the protagonist alongside Ajay Devgn.
