Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh witnessed its second COVID-19 death on Tuesday, as samples of the 9 year old girl who died while being treated for cancer tested positive for novel coronavirus. She was among the 11 people from Bilaspur whose reports returned positive for the infection on Tuesday.
As per the report, On 29 May, the girl, who returned from Allahabad with her parents, was admitted to Sims in Bilaspur after her health deteriorated. She died on 30th May.
In this case, Sims, Bilaspur nodal doctor Aarti Pandey said that she was given Leave Against Medical Advice(L.A.M.A) on 30th May after her test result came positive and was referred to AIIMS,Raipur.
“Instead of CMO, the police were notified of the matter, We are not aware whether she is alive or not but yesterday her test came positive of covid19” She further said.
The health department has been on high alert after the death of a 9-year-old corona-positive girl in Dangania in Masturi block of Bilaspur district, the entire village has been sealed and 38 people, including the girl’s family, have been quarantined and their corona sample have send for further investigation.
The state’s COVID-19 count is now 549, though active cases are 427 as 121 people have recovered, and one patient has died.
