New Delhi: The growing relationship between India and Saudi Arabia has benefited the common people as the Saudi Embassy in India, on Thursday tweeted that Indians no longer need to produce the Police clearance certificate for applying for a Saudi visa. It came soon after PM Modi returned from the G20 Summit that took place in Bali. It was earlier reported that Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was about to visit India to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, due to the PM’s schedule for the G20 summit, the meeting was canceled. The decision is taken to strengthen relations between the two growing nations.
In a tweet by the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in India on November 17, the information about the change in the decision was mentioned. The statement in the tweet read, “In view of the strong relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of India, the Kingdom has decided to exempt the Indian nationals from submitting a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). The PCC will no longer be a requirement for Indian citizens to obtain a visa for travelling to Saudi Arabia. This decision has been taken as a part of the efforts of the two countries to further strengthen their relations. The embassy appreciates the contribution of over two million Indian citizens living peacefully in the kingdom.”
Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, India has always maintained a liberal relation with most foreign countries. And it has a strong bilateral relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well. PM Modi was also presented with Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honor, the ‘King Abdulaziz Sash’, in the year 2016 by Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz. With such a declaration the relationship between the two countries is expected to improve more in the coming years.
