Patna: A Bhojpuri folk singer and a dancer were shot today while they were returning after performing at a birthday party. The duo, Neelu Behra and Mukesh Yadav were admitted to Sardar Hospital in Arrah after they were allegedly attacked by armed miscreants.
The artist had come to perform at the birthday of the son of a Panchayat Samiti member of Ahapura Panchayat of Salempur village. The area falls under the jurisdiction of Sandesh Police Station. The police is now investigating the matter.
The shutdown followed after a disagreement at the event, wherein the artists refused to dance with intoxicated miscreants. Further, they forced the victims to carry on with their performance beyond their committed time.
Dancer Neelu was a resident of Odisha’s Bhubaneshwar and singer Mukesh was a native of Patna. Sources reveal that the duo were attacked by miscreants who were under the influence of alcohol in a dry state.
