Bali: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s informal interactions with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of the G20 Summit has given a go-ahead to the scheme that offers 3000 visas for young professionals from India to work in UK annually. The scheme is expected to provide 18-30 year old degree -educated Indian antionals a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to take part in professional and cultural exchange.
This has been the first face-to-face interaction between the two leaders since Rishi Sunak assumed power last month. Sharing a glance of the informal interactions, PM Modi tweeted, “Glad to see you PM Rishi Sunak. Looking forward to working together in the times to come”.
“India is the first visa-national country to benefit from such a scheme, highlighting the strength of the UK-India Migration and Mobility Partnership agreed last year”, says UK Prime Minister in an official statement. The reciprocal route is expected to open in early 2023.
