Jamnagar, Gujarat: The assembly elections of Gujarat are going to occur in two phases this December. While all candidates are busy managing the last few days of rallying about their individual parties, cricketer Ravindra Jadeja is not behind in the race. His wife Rivaba Jadeja has been given a ticket to contest the assembly elections by the BJP party. She is a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Gujarat’s Jamnagar constituency. On Monday, Rivaba’s Husband, Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja attended an event and urged the people to support his wife in the upcoming assembly elections.

While speaking to the media he said, “It is her (Rivaba Jadeja) first time as an MLA candidate and she will learn a lot. I hope she will progress in this. She is of helping nature and has always wanted to help people and hence joined politics. She wants to follow the path of PM Modi to work for the people.”

Not only in the event but Jadeja was seen praising his wife and asking people to vote on his social media handle as well. On Sunday, Sir Jadeja tweeted a video about the same. He was seen saying in the video, “The Gujarat election is here and it’s like a T20 match. My wife is making her grand debut in politics on a BJP ticket! Tomorrow she will file her nomination. I appeal to the people of Jamnagar and all the cricket lovers to come in large numbers to support her.”

It must be noted that BJP has announced the first list of its candidates that includes 160 people among which 14 are females, 13 are SC candidates and 24 are ST candidates. The list also includes 69 repeat members. The Gujarat assembly elections will occur in two phases, 1st on December 1 and the second on December 5. BJP has been ruling the state for 27 years now. The fate of the BJP and all the other parties will be decided on December 8 when the results are out.
