Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: Dengue outbreak is increasing rapidly in Madhya Pradesh. In the report released by the Microbiology Department of Gajraraja Medical College on Friday, Dengue has been confirmed in 27 people in the state. Of these, 13 patients are said to be residents of Gwalior. In the last four days, 125 cases of dengue have been reported.

The increasing outbreak of dengue remains a matter of concern. The health department is conducting a larval survey in the name of prevention of dengue, but it is proving to be insufficient because the department cannot make the entire district dengue free with the help of 20 employees.

On Friday, 53 suspected patients were screened. Of these, 27 patients were confirmed to have dengue. This also includes children from six months to 14 years of age. On the other hand, due to a fault in the lab machine of Murar district hospital, the tests of suspected dengue patients could not be done. The Pathology staff of the hospital said that there was a technical fault in the machine. That’s why now all the samples will be tested on Saturday.

A total of seven patients including a six-month-old, ten-year-old, six-year-old, and nine-year-old have come forward from Morena. One patient each from Shivpuri and Datia has also been found to test positive for dengue. A health officer said that so far 444 dengue patients have been found in the district.

Dr. Vaibhav Mishra, Head of the Department of Microbiology, says that 56 patients have turned out to be Chikungunya positive in Shankarpur village of Bhind. Their samples will be sent to Pune for testing so that it can be known whether there has been any change in the chikungunya virus that is coming to the fore along with the dengue virus.
