Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: On Tuesday night, a youth thrashed his mother to death with a cricket bat in the Kohefiza police station area of Bhopal. After the death of his mother, he also tried to fabricate the story of her death by saying that she fell from the roof, with the intention of hiding the crime. The police have arrested the son on the charge of murder. It is said that due to his mental weakness, he could not get married. He often quarreled with his mother on this matter.
Kohefiza police station in-charge Vijay Singh Sisodia told that 67-year-old Asma Farooq, wife of late Salim Farooq lived with family near Bismillah Masjid in Khanu village. She has two sons. The eldest son Ataullah is married. He does a private business. The younger son Abdul Ahad Farhan, 32, is mentally challenged. Because of this, he could not get married. He used to quarrel with his mother about not getting married. On Tuesday night, Ataullah had gone to his in-laws’ house in Ashoka Garden to meet his wife. Only his mother and younger brother were in the house.
When Ataullah returned home at around 10 pm, he saw his mother lying in a pool of blood in the room. On being asked, Abdul Ahad told that she was injured after falling from the roof. Ataullah took his mother to the hospital. After checking her, the doctor declared Asma Farooq dead. They also informed the police about the incident. Sisodia told that after inspecting the spot of the incident and questioning Abdul Ahad on the basis of suspicion, he confessed to killing the mother by stabbing him with a cricket bat. The woman died on the spot due to a severe head injury. Abdul Ahad Farhan has been arrested on the charge of murder.
