DELHI: A layer of smog covered Delhi and people continued to gasp for fresh air as its air quality deteriorated on Wednesday. According to the latest data from System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) the AQI worsened from 321 to 339.
The AQI is expected to worsen over the coming hours, said people in the know. The overall AQI worsened in other parts of Delhi-NCR, too. Noida’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 371 (very poor category) and Gurugram is at 338 (very poor category).
Meanwhile, the primary schools in the national capital, reopened today and outdoor activities will be resumed for all classes from today, November 9.
Work-from-home order for all government offices were revoked two days ago. All state government offices now work at full capacity.
As the AQI of the national capital plummeted, the state government declared closure of primary schools and work from home for 50 per cent of its employees. The schools have also implemented a number of precautions to protect students, including the use of breathing exercises, and mental and emotional well-being activities.
