BIJAPUR: Naxal killed two men in the last two days in Chhattisgarh, a senior official said. Police teams were deployed at the spot and the bodies of the victim were transported to the villages after official processing.

The first incident took place at village Kotapalli on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border on Monday, after a journalist’s brother was abducted on Friday and killed in a Jan Adalat on Monday on suspicion of being an informer. Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said on Wednesday confirmed the incident in a press briefing.

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim, Basant Jhadi, was an employee of the Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA). The body of the victim was handed over to the family and the last rites were performed on Wednesday, the IG added.

On grounds of suspicion another local, a 32-year-old man was killed by the Maoists in Ghotiyakanhar village, in the newly formed Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district. The body of the victim was found on Wednesday.
