Haryana: Prime minister Narendra Modi will attend the Chintan Shivir hosted by home ministers of all states at Surajkund Haryana through video conferencing. The Shivir will be held on the 27th and 28th of October but the PM will give his attendance on the last day only. The Chintan Shivir will be attended by other high delegations from the country also that includes the Director Generals of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Home Secretaries, and the Director General of Police (DGPs) of the States and Central Police Organisations (CPOs).

The Chintan Shivir is organized as part of an endeavor that deals with policy formulation perspectives on the country’s internal security. This will be carried out in accordance with the ‘panch pran’ goal that PM Modi announced during his Independence day speech. It is expected that this Shivir will help in bringing more cooperative federalism among state and centre stakeholders.

It plans on focussing on issues that will help India achieve the goal of ‘panch pran’ in the next 25 years. Some of its visionaries include increased use of IT in the criminal justice system, women’s safety, modernization of police forces, land border management, cybercrime management, drug trafficking, and coastal security among others. The attendance of PM Modi on the second day will impart additional significance to the program.
