New Delhi: A 36 year old woman from Delhi was kidnapped and allegedly gang raped, and tortured for two days, police officials said on Wednesday. A group of five was involved in the crime and four accused out of them are arrested it added.

The incident which took place in Ghaziabad surfaced after the police were on Tuesday alerted to a woman lying near Ashram Road that connects the satellite town to Delhi. She was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital after which her complaint was filed.

The woman is stable now and under observation said hospital chiefs treating her. It was learnt that the accused used a rod to commit the heinous crime and left the woman on streets.

“It is being said that they (survivor and accused) have a property dispute and the matter is sub-judice. We’re taking all necessary action,” Nipun Agarwal, superintendent of police Ghaziabad said.

Preliminary investigation reveals the lady was returning to Delhi after a birthday party in Ghaziabad and was dropped off at a bus stand by her brother. While she was waiting for the bus, a car approached the woman and five men dragged her into it, the police said. They took her to an undisclosed location and allegedly raped her.
