Kyiv: Calling Ukraine’s application for membership of NATO as propaganda, a key Russian official warned that the West understands the consequences of Ukraine joining NATO. The official compelled that Ukraine’s admission to NATO will escalate the current war to World War Three.
“Kyiv is well aware that such a step would mean a guaranteed escalation to World War Three”, said the deputy secretary of Russia’s Security Council. Meanwhile, United Nations has called for a resolution on the international community to not recognize any of Russia’s annexation claims and further demands immediate reversal.
Earlier last week, Russia signed documents to make the eastern Ukrainian regions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson as parts of Russia. The countries that have a long-standing stance of criticizing western governments voted with Russia. Contrarily, India and China attempted to remain neutral on the conflict. All 30 NATO members must have a consensus regarding the inclusion of Ukraine, however, the membership of this nation is not anywhere near for now.
