New Delhi: The CBI on Monday detained a Russian national accused of hacking the TCS Software and leaking JEE paper at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. As per reports the accused identified as Mikhail Shargin was hunted down after preliminary investigations revealed his involvement in tampering with the iLeon software, the platform used for conducting the JEE Mains examinations.

The involvement of Shargin surfaced after investigation revealed foreign nationals were involved in compromising many online examinations, including JEE (Mains). They had colluded with other accused persons.

According to the CBI, Shargin had allegedly tampered with the iLeon software- designed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the platform on which the JEE (Mains) 2021 examination was conducted. The accused is reported to have helped other accused persons in hacking the computer systems of the suspect candidates during the examination.
