Bhopal: Around 30 people from 8 districts in MP have been detained for alleged connection with the banned radical outfit on Wednesday. In a media interaction state home minister Narottam Mishra said, “Following the arrest of 1 person from Ujjain and 3 from Indore last week we have detained 30 people across 8 districts of the state in connection with PFI links. Their laptops and mobile phones have been seized and further investigation is going on”.
So far 4 people have been arrested by the state ATS that include PFI state president Abdul Kareem, 50, Abdul Javed (35) and Mohammad Khalid (37) from Indore, and state general secretary Mohammad Zameel (43) from Ujjain. The detention came after the Ministry of Home Affairs Wednesday morning named the PFI an unlawful organization engaged in terror funding. It banned PFI under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 with immediate effect for five years.
Rehab India Foundation (RIF). Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala- associates of the radical outfit have also been barred from operations.
