Raipur: District level officers of the state Agriculture department have launched raids on seeds, fertilizers and pesticides providers in the state.

The raids have been carried on the instructions of CM Bhupesh Baghel. Baghrl ordered special monitoring to be done by the Agriculture Department on the quality of chemical fertilizers, seeds and pesticides in the state.

So far in the Kharif season 2022, 99 samples of seeds and 109 samples of chemical fertilizers have been found detected to be below the standards and are sent for quality checks. The Agriculture Dept has imposed a ban of the sale of seeds, fertilizers below the standard.

Additional Director Agriculture (Fertilizers) S. C. Padam informed that in the Kharif season, 2022, the target is to collect 5,000 samples of seeds, 3,000 of fertilizers and 500 samples of plant protection drugs.
