New Delhi: India recorded 3,230 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.72 per cent accounted for 4,255 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,40,04,553.

The daily positivity rate stood at 1.18 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 42,358 accounting for 0.10 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 1,057 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 32 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,562.

With the administration of 14,08,253 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, 217.82 crore beneficiaries have been immunized so far.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. The country crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23 last year. It crossed the four-crore mark on January 25 this year.

In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 2,74,755 infected samples. So far, 89.41 crore tests have been conducted.
