Bollywood: The Bollywood Actor Sonu Sood relieved several migrants and supported them to reach their homes from Maharashtra. The migrants hailed from several parts of India namely, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Karnataka. The actor arranged special bus services for the migrants in Maharashtra after granting special permission from Uttar Pradesh government. Also, the transportation services were arranged for the migrants of Karnataka. The initiative ‘Ghar Bhejo’ has sent 750 migrants to Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh in 20 buses.

Amidst COVID-19, migrants, labourers, employees from different sectors and workers stuck in the various areas of India after the announcement of sudden lockdown. Panic-stricken workers started walking off towards their homeland. Several died on the way whereas; many struggled to find basic food, water and shelter in the journey. The government has commenced rail services, the idea wasn’t worthwhile as it was expected. Several migrants queued up waiting and struggling outside the counter. Despite the proclamation of relief packages and small help by the NGO, the migrants were reluctant to stay further due to unemployment. 

Sonu Sood has generously donated 1500 PPE kits across Punjab. The star has granted the Mumbai hotel for the accommodation of medical assistants. Nevertheless, the celebrity has provided eatables for the migrants. 

The star has been applauded over social media for his kind act. Maharashtra Water Resources and NCP leader Jayant Patil and another Bollywood actor, Rajkummar Rao has commended the generous attitude. Millions of fans flooded this twitter account showering blessings and respect for acting out in the harsh time.

“Sonu Sood is arranging buses for migrants who want to go back to their homes. He is trying to help as many migrants as he can. The on screen villain is an inspiring hero in reality! God bless him @SonuSood,” tweeted Patil, who heads the state NCP unit. He also shared a picture of Sood standing near the buses reportedly arranged by him to ferry migrant workers.
