New Delhi: The last rites of comedian Raju Srivastava have begun in the capital. Friends from the television industry and Raju’s peers arrived to attend the last rites of India’s best stand up comedian. Condolences poured in from the Bollywood industry. PM Modi and Delhi CM expressed grief on the loss and extended condolences to family of the comedian.

The mortal remains of Raju Srivastava reached Nigambodh Ghat for cremation after the body was released from Dwarka. A sea of fans was seen all through his last journey who gathered to catch the last site of their favourite comedian.

Paying a tribute to Raju Srivastava, Kapil Sharma dug out an old picture of the duo from the sets of Kapil’s comedy show. Sharing the picture on Instagram, Kapil wrote, “Today is the first time you have made me cry Raju Bhai 💔 I wish we could have met one more time. May God give you a place in his feet. You will be missed a lot. Goodbye 🙏 Om Shanti.”

The last video of Raju on his official Instagram handle, went viral where the actor made people laugh in a sketch featuring the different COVID-19 caller tunes by mimicking celebrities like Shashi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, and others. In the video, he said, “Friends, during the COVID-19 era of COVID-19 we all have heard the caller tune in the voice of Amitabh Bachchan, I thought if Shashi Kapoor would have said it, how would it sound?”

Raju Srivastava breathed his last at AIIMS, Delhi on September 21. He was 58 years old. He had suffered a cardiac arrest on August 10th while working out a gym in Delhi and immediately rushed to the hospital and had been battling for life since then
