Indore: EKI Energy Services have announced India’s first plastic project under a global accreditation standard. A developer and seller of carbon credits, this company has worked for the past 14 years to create solutions for climate action. With this, it has led India to become a nation with its first-ever international plastic credits.

The project ensures that plastic waste, primarily Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) waste, PET flakes, and chips are properly recycled. It shall motivate numerous additional projects around the country to build u their recycling efforts in a planned manner for plastic credits financing that can enable and support greater climate action.

The project has been accredited by Verra, a Washington-based organization under their Plastic Waste Reduction Standard. This is a remarkable achievement as this project shall enable Recycled Polyester Staple Fibre (RPSF) to be used in textile industry for clothing and other utility products.
