Raipur: As per the instructions by health minister TS Singh Deo, all government medical colleges are ordered to open sicke cell testing and counselling centres.
The instructions were made at a meeting of the Board of Directors of Chhattisgarh Sickle Cell Institute at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur today.
He granted permission for recruitment to three posts of General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO), five posts of Clerk-cum-Computer Operator and five posts of Resident Doctor in Sickle Cell Institute.
He pressed officials to focus on unreachable tribal areas which are prone to the diesease.
This is the ninth time the Board of Directors of Chhattisgarh Sickle Cell held a meeting under the chairmanship of State Health Minister.
