Raipur: Chhattisgarh on Monday added two deaths due to H1N1 virus taking death toll to 9.

Two patients, aged 62, hailing from Bilaspur and Raipur, were admitted to the hospitals a few days ago with severe conditions. Later, after further examinations they were found to be swine flu positive. Late on Saturday evening, the two patients with comorbidities died while undergoing treatment.

As per data updated by the state health department, 16 fresh cases were added on Monday, 14 out of which were maily from the capital city, Raipur. The two others were reported from Raigad and Surajpur district, health officials said. The active count of swine flu rose to 86 on Monday.

The officials added that swine flu was spread across 18 districts. Statistics reveal 161 case so far, with the highest in Raipur followed by Durg and Raigarh.
