Bhopal: Unable to bear the separation from his wife; a school teacher buries her remains in the house despite opposition from relatives and neighbors.

Omkardas Mogre turned his wifes’ grave into a shrine decked up with flowers. He spent most of his time near the grave and even slept besides it making it clear that he had n intentions to separate from his wife. Panicked neighbour’s contacted the police, but saw no sign of action and so later approached the collector.

Shortly after the complaint, a team of district administration arrived at the residence with exhumation orders. Mogre protested, saying that he considers humans and spirits as equal and there was no need to take the body away from him. He relented, however, senior officers intervened and allowed them to exhume her body to give her a properr burial.

Rukmani was married to Mogre for 25 years and died while battling sickle cell anemia. She breathed her last at home near Dindori’s Birsamunda Stadium. The couple had no children and Mogre was attached to his wife a lot.
