New Delhi: Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said the searches have no connection to Delhi’s liquor policy and are part of a ploy by the Centre to “stop Arvind Kejriwal”.
At the press conference he denied that there was no scam in the implementation of the excise policy and claimed that the Centre ordered CBI to act against him as he is a minister in the Kejriwal government in Delhi.
The Delhi minister said that Kejriwal’s work in the health and education sectors has been lauded across the world and the central government is targeting his ministers to dilute the chief minister’s credibility.
The response came a day after the CBI officials raided his residence along with30 others. The AAP leader’s home, the residence of IAS officer and former excise commissioner Arava Gopi Krishna and few other places were raided by the CBI based on an FIR lodged for alleged corruption and bribery formulation and execution of the Delhi Excise Policy brought out last November.
On Friday, the New York Times had published about the Education policy of the AAP government praising its endeavor to foster education for all.
