New Delhi: The IMD in a fresh notice on Thursday predicted widespread rains in central India for the next 3-4 days.
As per the notice issued by the weather agency, under the cyclonic circulation over south Myanmar and neighbouring regions, a low-pressure area is formed over the northeast and adjoining areas of the east-central Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh-Myanmar coasts on Thursday which is predicted to become more marked in the next 12 hours and concentrate into a depression in the nest 24 hours.
Fairly widespread, moderate rainfall is likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh during 18-22 August. Isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorm/lightning are likely over East MP and CG during 19-21 August, while the West MP will receive rains on 21-22 August. Alert has been sounded for Ujjain and Gwalior in MP.
In view of the alert issued by the weather dept, CM Chauhan has instructed District administration, NDRF and SDRF to monitor the situation and stay alert. Rescue teams have been instructed to prioritize the relocation of pregnant ladies who are due delivery in the coming 3-4 days.
