New Delhi: India recorded 18,738 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.50 per cent accounted for 18,558 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,34,84,110.
The daily positivity rate stood at 5.02per cent. The number of active cases stood at 1,34,933 accounting for 0.31 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a increase of 140 in the last 24 hours.
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 40 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,26,689.
The new fatalities include nine from Maharashtra, four each from Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, three from Manipur, two from Madhya Pradesh and one each from Bihar, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Odisha, Punjab and Tripura.
With the administration of 29,58,617 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 206.21 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
