Jabalpur: At least 10 have been killed and two injured after a massive fire broke out in the New Life Multispeciality hospital in the Damoh Naka area of Jabalpur on Monday afternoon. The city mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu and Collector Ilaiya Raja t and SP Siddhart Bahuguna rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
Around six fire brigades and several teams of the police administration have been engaged in rescuing those stranded and addressing needs like immediate medical attention and providing them transport on an emergency basis.
Prima facie a short circuit is being cited as the reason for the huge outbreak. CM SS Chauhan expressing grief about the accident announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the next of kin who succumbed to the fire.
