Sehore: The video of thrashing a newly elected Panchayat member has been making rounds on social media. In the incident that is reported to have occurred on Friday in Sehore, a group of men are seen hitting the Panchayat member with sticks and punching him.
The trashing was reported shortly after the Zilla panchayat results were announced. Rakesh Lodhi the recently elected Panchayat was taking stock of the administrative tasks he needed to take up along with his aides when a group of five men attacked him on the busy road.
A case has been filed against the unknown attackers, police said. Adding that the Sarpanch and his aid Sonu have been hospitalized.
The BJP scored a colossal victory in the recent Panchayat election in MP. Out of the 23,000 village panchayats, BJP-supported candidates won the post of sarpanch in 90 per cent or 20,613 posts, said MP CM in a media interaction.
