Raipur: Miffed by the resignation, the party members demanded ‘strict but respectful action’ against Health Minister TS Singh Deo who in a bizarre move resigned from his Panchayat Minister post. On Sunday he staged an internal feud with CM Baghel by not attending the Congress legistlature party meeting that was held at the CM’s residence citing ‘pre-planned engagements’, a day after he relinquished the Panchayat Minister post.

In a media interaction, Senior Congress MLA and state spokesperson Ravindra Chaubey on Monday revealed how hurt the CLP was by the way TS Singh Deo submitted his resignation to the CM. “Singh Deo’s resignation was discussed in the meeting. All legislators were hurt over his decision and demanded that a strong, but respectful action should be taken by the high command,” Chaubey said.

It is being learnt that Singh Deo interacting with the press told them he is in Ambikapur (Surguja district), his hometown and constituency, to attend pre-planned engagements and will not be able to attend the CLP meeting. According to sources, 64 of the 71 MLAs attended the Congress party meeting on Sunday.

Singh Deo gave up charge of the Panchayat and Rural Development department citing reasons like non-allotment of funds by the chief minister for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
