New Delhi: India recorded 20,038 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.48 per cent accounted for 16,994 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,30,45,350. The daily positivity rate stood at 4.44 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 4.30 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 1,39,073 accounting for 0.32 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 2,997 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 47 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 5,25,604.

With the administration of 18.92 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 199.47 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 9.70 Cr (9,70,62,185) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
