Gujarat: As many as 8 died after a wall collapsed in Gujarat due to incessant rains. The incessant rains have wreaked havoc in the capital city leaving several stranded and multiple displaced. So far over 64 people have died across the state. Around 33 died due to lightning, 16 due to uprooting of trees and 1 due to electrocution. Officials informed that over 9,000 people were relocated and 468 rescued.

Rajkot has received around 7 inches of rain and has been facing water logging since the monsoon began. The Met dept has issued a warning for the upcoming 24 hours. All schools and colleges have been shut down. People staying in low-lying areas in the vicinity of Rajkot’s Aji-2 Dam were opened to avert a flood-like situation.

The IMD department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rains in Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi and Surat during the next five days.
