Balodbazar: Acting on the instructions of the Balodabazar Collector, the Agriculture Department officers raided shops selling chemical fertilizers.
During the rais around 6 shops were sealed and owners of 7 outlets were issued notice to submit the required documentation owing to the discrepancies the district inspectors identified. Out of the 6 sealed, 3 shops have been barred from running sales for 3 weeks, while the remaining have been ordered to suspend sales for 7 days.
Apart from this, the owners will also be booked for violations under the Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and the Essential Commodities Act 1955.
