Bastar: In a successful operation on Saturday, Bastar Police nabbed 9 culprits in connection with the supply of explosive materials to Naxals in the area. Acting on an intelligence report, the police sought action.
The arrests are being called an important achievement in curbing the activities of the Naxals. Sources reveal that 9 people were arrested in Kodnar’s Bastanar Kaklur road while they were on the way to deliver explosives to Naxalites.
A huge amount of booster, codex wire, detonator, safety fuse and axle wire have been seized by the Police.
Meanwhile, a month ago in June a cadre of Naxalites was arrested by security forces in two districts of the Chhattisgarh Bastar region. On the same day, three Naxals who were tasked with supplying rations and medicines to the Naxalites also surrendered. Gelatin Box, tiffin bomb and other objectionable items were also seized in the Police investigation. The operation was carried out by Border Security Forces (BSF) in the Bastar region.
